Uses AutoCAD to provide support to engineers by preparing layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Has a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology. Possesses mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering aptitude, and must have professional experience with design of vertical construction projects for Federal Government.

CAD Designer Required Experience:

8 + years of relevant experience
Associates, Bachelor’s or Masters degree
Travel Required : Estimated up to 10%

CAD Designer Qualifications:

Proficient with AutoCAD software a must
Associates, Bachelor’s or Masters degree
US Corps of Engineers &/or other DoD engineering and vertical construction experience desired
LEED Certification &/or experience is desirable
Requires U.S. Citizenship and may require a security clearance
Possess good written and oral communication skills
Be self-motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight

CAD Designer Major Duties:

Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs.
Creates and revises production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
Utilizes knowledge of various engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
Makes simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to engineers or supervisor.
Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards and follows various Federal design standards.
Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production drawings.
May perform other duties as needed
