CNC Operator  

We are seeking a CNC Operator for our customer in Denver, CO. The CNC Operator will have knowledge of CNC manufacturing practices, blueprint reading, measuring tools, and instruments related to precision manufacturing. The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines according to specifications.

CNC Operator Responsibilities

Operates semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations (i.e. forming, drilling, tapping, reaming or chamfering) where programs are provided and setups are often made and maintained by others
Collects and records Statistical Process Control (SPC) data as required by inspection methods for each order to ensure quality standards are met
Edits simple G code as well as adjusts tooling offsets
Calculates speed and feed for specific product being worked on and makes program adjustments
Operates the Optical Comparator and other measuring tools to ensure correct dimensions of machined parts
Receives and reviews production orders for machining jobs; requires reviewing the blueprint and materials for accuracy
Oversees machine operation throughout the production run to ensure part conformance
Performs basic daily maintenance on equipment
May run more than one machine simultaneously
Cross trains in other areas
Other duties as assigned

CNC Operator Education & Experience

6 months CNC machining or completion of a trade school

Experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing a plus.

CNC Operator Skills

Must determine thread lengths per print and adjust taps accordingly
CNC machinery in a manner that uses raw materials to their best advantage and protects tools against breakage.
G code and adjust tooling offsets.
SPC charts based on dimensions and the ability to read them
Multitask in a fast-paced environment
High level of attention to detail and excellent problem solving
Work in a team environment
Knowledge of blueprints and work instructions
Math skills to process work instructions
Knowledge of materials and material requirements
Adapt to constantly changing priorities
Basic computer skills
Measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales and other quality control tools.
Measurements between .100 to .0001
