REQUIRED SKILLS/JOB DESCRIPTION
A. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable major.
B. A minimum of ten years experience in a complex metal manufacturing environment – aerospace turbomachinery environment preferable. Electromechanical assembly experience is a bonus.
C. A minimum of three years supervisory experience.
D. A minimum of three years experience with recognized quality systems (ISO, AS, QS, TS)
E. Excellent knowledge of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
F. Comprehensive understanding of metal machining, welding, and non-destructive testing processes, and familiarity with casting, plating, coating, and finishing processes.
G. Experience using 3D CAD/CAM modeling software, with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, and enterprise resource planning software (Vantage preferred).
H. Work effectively with Sales to help customers fully specify project requirements.
I. Create manufacturing plans and detailed work instructions.
J. Design and develop tooling and maintain the fixture inventory control system
K. Create, review, and improve manufacturing processes to meet hardware end item specifications.
L. Review engineering drawings and designs for cost effective manufacturability.
M. Facilitate Lean activities independently or with the guidance of consultants to improve product work flow, scheduling visibility, and plant organization
N. Support vendor selection process and act as technical interface to increase machine shop and secondary processing outsource capability
O. Provide cost estimating for complex machined and welded assemblies either independently or with guidance from others.
P. Communicate manufacturing plans and processes to internal and external customers.
Q. Work with the project team to ensure overall program quality, delivery and cost objectives are met.
R. Perform as back-up to machine shop manager, production and inventory control, and purchasing departments.
S. Ability to obtain US government security clearance. United States Citizenship required
