Valve Service Technician

CES is Seeking a Valve Service Technician for our client in Denver, Colorado.
The Valve Services Technician primarily provides in-house and on-site support for isolation and pressure management products such as pressure and safety relief valves, and pneumatic, electric and electric over hydraulic actuation. Additionally, may also be required to provide valve walk-downs and/or act as an onsite lead for plant outages and turnarounds.

Valve Service Technician responsibilities:

• Repair safety relief valves to meet National Board VR Code.
• Assemble new safety relief valves to meet National Board UV Code.
• Read and interpret manufacture’s drawings and spring charts.
• Machine nozzles, discs and associated parts to OEM specifications.
• Perform hand lapping of nozzles and discs.
• Perform valve pressure and leak tests to National Board, API and ASME standards.
• Perform calibration and documentation of test gauges.
• Support National Board safety/pressure relief valve audit activities.
• Install, repair and commission pneumatic, electric and electric over hydraulic actuators.
• Conduct plant walk-downs in the pursuit of outage/turnaround engagements.
• Troubleshoot problems in the field or remotely in a logical and timely fashion.
• Travel to customer facilities within the Rocky Mountain Region along with performing repair work in house. (Montana, Wyoming and Colorado)

Valve Service Technician qualifications:
• Experience with “Smart” positioners, valve repair, and pneumatic, electric and electric over hydraulic actuation is preferred
• General understanding of HART and WiHART technologies
• Previous experience with industrial safety relief valve repair is preferred
• Prior knowledge and experience of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) and ASME code is preferred
• Prior Oil & Gas, Power Plant, or Refinery experience is a plus
• Previous machining experience is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite of products

Valve Service Technician working conditions:
Combination of both shop and field settings, with occasional office work. This position may require evening, weekend and holiday hours, as well as overnight travel. Lifting up to 70 pounds is required on occasion.
